All those foodies out there in the search of something mouth watering need to know that Indian food can bring an end to this search. There are many perceptions and misconceptions in the minds of the people around the world and this is why it is better to know the Indian Food in and out before picking the spoon and fork. One needs to know that Indian food is much more than a blend of spices and it is made using a different yet delicate approach each time. It has to be known that Indian food is made using an array of dazzling and healthy veggies that would add to health of a person.

Both fruits and veggies are a part of the Indian Food and these are cooked in a various different ways so that one ends up enjoying a great taste. One thing that is unique about the Indian Food recipes is that the spices are added in such fine way that the nutrition value and freshness of the food is retained. Another interesting thing about Indian food is minimal possible preservatives are used and this means that you are not going to eat anything that would hamper your digestive tract in the long run.

Indian food is a wholesome amalgamation of fats, carbohydrates and fiber and this is what adds to the nutritional value. There is one ruling misconception about Indian Food that it is too hot and spicy, this is wrong as although it contains spices but these are not at all heavy on taste and stomach.

Another pathetic misconception that has been shrouding the popularity of Indian Food is that it is unhealthy and fatty. One needs to know that oil is used in Indian dishes but that too in a prescribed dosage and there are many foods that do not even contain oil at all.

Question by Ashley: How do I make gourmet coffee drinks like Starbucks?
I usually don’t drink coffee. However, when the holidays are round around the corner, I HAVE to have gourmet coffee. I would appreciate it if you can provide recipes for cappucinos, lattes, espressos, etc.

Also, which gourmet coffee makers and steamers are best? Mr. Coffee? Thank you.

At Starbucks, the standard number of shots for each size is: 8oz and 12 oz – 1 shot espresso. 16 oz and 20oz are 2 shots of espresso. Of course it all depends on personal preference and how strong you want your lattes etc to be.

A cappuccino is espresso shot(s), half steamed milk and half foam. A latte is espresso, plus steamed milk and a light layer of foam.

To make great steamed milk, you want the foam to be velvety smooth, like microfoam. Aerate the milk, but don’t let the steam wand come up too close to the surface, or it will create large air bubbles that aren’t unattractive.

To get the most out of espresso, you should use the shot within 10 seconds of pouring it. When the espresso is still a light brown colour; this creates a nutty, caramelly flavour. When it is black, the espresso will taste very bitter.

The latte is the base for almost every drink. From vanilla lattes, to mochas to caramel macchiatos.

The machines at Starbucks are called Mastrenas, the older ones are Verismos. It depends on the machine, but the shot time for a Mastrena is 18-23 seconds, and Verismos are faster (I have forgotten the exact time).
